SEAMEO Regional Training Center in Vietnam*, Ho Chi Minh City – 2021 to 2023*
The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) is a regional intergovernmental organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science, and culture. Vietnam was re-admitted as a SEAMEO Member Country in 1992 by the SEAMEO Council, and SEAMEO RETRAC began operations in October 1996. The Center has constantly been developing and carrying out a variety of activities for educational administrators at all levels; being a leading center for English language teaching in Ho Chi Minh City; developing different training, research projects, community service events, international cooperation, and information exchange; fostering and improving the capacity of teachers, lecturers, and educational administrators in Vietnam as well as in Southeast Asia.
As a Program Officer in International Development, Chau Luu's scope of work focused on being the bridge of communication between SEAMEO RETRAC and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) itself, the SEAMEO Secretariat, and other sister SEAMEO Centers/Network. Furthermore, she was at the same time responsible for organizing meetings and visits of regional and international high officials, administrators, experts, researchers in education, and SEAMEO RETRAC's partners to the Center as well as maintaining the Center's international relations with key partners and organizations in education, educational leadership and management, and related specializations. Chau Luu also coordinated, organized, and facilitated the Center's activities in education and educational leadership and management such as training, workshops, seminars, symposium, and conferences with the participation of leaders, administrators, lecturers, and teachers of educational institutes in response to situational needs in the Southeast Asia region and beyond.
One Line Thinker*, Ho Chi Minh City – April 2021 to July 2021*
One Line Thinker is a creative collaboration based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. While at One Line Thinker, Chau Luu provided the business with mindful social solutions and content products. She confidently showed her skills in finding the way to bring the business' products, Vietnam-based stationaries, closer to the target market's reach (young people who support quality local brands). Chau Luu herself is also a huge fan of talented and creative young start-up minds; therefore, she finds the experience at One Line Thinker enjoyable and learnable for her, even just for a quarter of 2021.
The Student's Union of the Faculty of International Relations, HCM-USSH*, Ho Chi Minh City – 2017 to 2021*
The Student's Union of the Faculty of International Relations (SUFIR) is a unique student-run institution representing the students of the Faculty of International Relations, HCM-USSH. Chau Luu was first a Media and Communications Manager of SUFIR, then later promoted to be an Executive Committee Member. She forever values her time at SUFIR as this organization was the starting point for her learning and developing journey. At SUFIR, Chau Luu learned to be more independent, confident, and responsible through finding and meeting the needs of the Faculty's students via planning and organizing activities and programs with international and intercultural perspectives. By understanding others from learning their nuances, Chau Luu has well-developed interpersonal skills, a hugely important skill set for her current position.
Like a Camel*, 2022 to current*
As a personal project, Like a Camel is Chau Luu's current playground, where she freely shares her lessons learned as time goes by. Taken the shape of a open diary, Chau Luu wants to visualize the way she sees the world in forms of words and sentences.
